Grounded 2 is finally crawling out of the grass next week, and survival fans have plenty to get excited about. A New Kind of Wilderness
Grounded 2 shifts the adventure from a backyard to a vast suburban park, reimagined through the lens of a 90s childhood. The world feels familiar yet dangerous, with each zone offering new challenges. You’ll encounter weather changes, unusual terrain, and a much larger map filled with secrets. Survival isn’t just about staying alive anymore—it’s about adapting as a team in a space that keeps evolving.
Ride, Fight, and Survive with Style
One of the game’s standout additions is insect riding. Players can now tame bugs and use them for faster travel and high-ground combat. Whether darting past enemies on a speedy beetle or scouting rooftops from above, these mounts add a fun twist to exploration.
Crafting systems have also been reworked from the ground up. There are more tools, smarter upgrade paths, and plenty of gear to customize. Add in the expanded character roles and polished co-op features, and Grounded 2 delivers a survival experience that’s more refined, more interactive, and definitely more rewarding.
Developer Vision and Future Updates
Obsidian is committed to delivering quality over quantity in Grounded 2. Instead of frequent small updates, the game will see larger content drops every four to five months. These will be richer in scope and shaped by direct community feedback via a transparent public roadmap.
This approach allows the developers to polish content more thoroughly, ensuring fewer bugs (the bad kind) and better stability.
Where to Play and When
Grounded 2 officially arrives on July 29, 2025, launching through Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. PC players can also access it via Steam Early Access. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’ll be able to start playing on day one at no extra cost.
While currently locked into the Xbox and PC ecosystem, the possibility of additional platforms remains open. Given how the first title expanded over time, it’s likely fans on other consoles will see it in the future too.
Early Access, Pricing, and Player Hype
Priced at $29.99 for Early Access, Grounded 2 has already sparked a wave of excitement online. Many in the community appreciate the price point, especially considering the promise of long-term content and bigger gameplay systems.
From better creature behavior to more streamlined co-op systems, the improvements are substantial. First-time players and series veterans alike are eager to see what lies beyond the backyard. With early previews already creating buzz, this follow-up looks set to build on everything fans loved—and push it further.
